Dieppe is a great city to live in. Its population (about 20,000 residents in a 67 km² area) is young and dynamic. According to the most recent census data, half of the population is 35 years of age and under, assuring long term balanced demographic growth. Dieppe is an attractive city where over 70% of the residents have knowledge of both official languages and composed of about 75% Francophones and 25% Anglophones. The city enjoys an enviable reputation due to its many services and programs. It has a vibrant cultural and sports scene. A new state-of-the-art aquatic and sports centre featuring two pools. Attentive to environmental concerns, the City of Dieppe’s approach to development maintains a balance between the construction of commercial or industrial buildings and green spaces. The city has some thirty parks and green spaces: an urban park, 15 neighbourhood parks, 7 local/school parks, 5 green spaces and a linear park that features 20 kilometres of trails. Golf buffs will really enjoy the Fox Creek Golf Club. Designed by internationally renowned Canadian architect Graham Cooke, this 18-hole course is quickly becoming a major destination for golfers throughout the world. The area is conducive to creativity. The City has a magnificent Arts and Cultural Centre and an outdoor stage that features shows during the warm summer season such as the Mercredi Show. The community enjoys meeting and socializing at the Dieppe Market which offers a wide variety of fresh farm products as well as arts and crafts. Dieppe also has private daycare centres, kindergarten to grade 12 educational facilities, a flight training school, a Francophone community college, and the City of Moncton, located nearby, has an Anglophone community college and is home to the Université de Moncton, the largest Francophone university East of Québec. With respect to health care, Dieppe residents have access to medical, dental and optometric offices, also the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital (which has an oncology centre) and the Moncton Hospital.
